Saturday, May 11, 2013 Amman - MenaITech, the regional company specialized in building and deploying human resources applications, has announced its gold sponsorship for the second consecutive year of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2013, which will be held under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah at King Hussein Business Park, in May 8th, 2013.

This partnership comes in line with MenaITech's policy aiming at fueling the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation among youth, while prompting them to keep in pace with the world's technological advances, through assisting them to utilize their technical skills and creative abilities and giving them a voice in the future they want for Jordan.

The world's premier student technology competition seeks to support student innovators and owners of social and technological start-ups from all over the world, as well as helping the winners to transform their unique ideas to successful for-profit and non-profit enterprises.

In his comment, MenaITech's CEO, Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh, said: "Since its inception as a pioneering company in the IT sector, MenaITech has been distinguished for developing ground-breaking e-solutions based on novel concepts to bring the community up to luxury level. Our sponsorship of Imagine Cup competition in Jordan stems from our vision to stimulate further economic development at the local level and support young talents in the IT industry."

"We believe that technology has great potential to make a positive change in the world. This competition proves every year that technology can be a great power of change when it is combined with innovation and creativity," Dr. Hawamdeh, a member of the judges' panel, added, highlighting the importance of curbing online piracy and protecting intellectual property rights.

Dr. Hawamdeh also underscored the importance of Microsoft Imagine Cup competition in prompting students to boost education, raise environmental awareness, and help solve tough social problems through taking their one of kind app ideas from concept to marketplace with Microsoft latest resources.

It is worth mentioning that Microsoft Imagine Cup 2013 is a leading, worldwide technology competition for students aged between 16 and 26. It aims at creating a computer equipment and technology-based environment intended for innovation while helping participants to unveil their technical skills, along with establishing and maintaining long-term friendships with their peers from different parts of the world.
